Healthy Andy Pages Takes Live BP In Dodgers’ Major League Camp

Los Angeles Dodgers prospect Andy Pages took his first round of batting practice at Camelback Ranch on Thursday morning, eight months after the surgery that ended his 2023 season.

Pages was well on his way to making his major league debut after dominating Double-A pitching last season. Pages hit .284/.430/.495 with three home runs, 12 doubles, 25 RBIs and 23 runs scored while stealing seven bases across 109 at-bats for the Tulsa Drillers.

He was rewarded with a promotion to Triple-A Oklahoma City and was 0-for-3 with two strikeouts and a walk in the first game. He was replaced after striking out swinging in the bottom of the eighth inning in his only game in OKC, diagnosed with a torn labrum.

Pages will begin the season in Double-A or Triple-A. His path to major league playing time is blocked either way.

The Dodgers acquired veteran outfielder Manuel Margot in the trade that brought Tyler Glasnow to Los Angeles. They then signed Teoscar Hernández to solidify their starting outfield. Chris Taylor, the veteran utility player, also expects to see time in the outfield.

One injury could change that picture, but according to Juan Toribio of MLB.com Pages won’t make his debut in Los Angeles “until at least the 2025 season.” For now, it appears Pages is healthy enough to accelerate his own timeline.
