Key Dates Dodgers Fans Need to Know About for the 2023-2024 Offseason

The offseason is here and it’s setting up to be a busy one for the Los Angeles Dodgers. Before getting to Opening Day 2024, there are a number of key dates that all fans should know for the next few months.

Here is everything you need to know about the Dodgers offseason starting with the beginning of free agency.



Every Key Date for the 2023-2024 Offseason

November 2: Free agency begins. Eligible players are removed from the 40-man roster.

November 6: Contract option deadline. Deadline to extend qualifying offers. Free agency signing period begins (the hot stove starts).

November 7-9: General managers meetings in Scottsdale, Arizona.

November 14: Qualifying offer deadline (players have until 1:00 PM PT to accept or decline). Rule 5 protection deadline.

November 14-16: Owners meetings in Arlington, Texas.

November 17: Non-tender deadline. (Teams decide whether or not to tender a contract to arbitration eligible players).

December 3-6: Winter Meetings in Nashville, Tennesee.

December 5: Amateur draft lottery.

December 6: Rule 5 draft day.

December 15: International free agent signing period ends.

January 12: Deadline for teams and arbitration-eligible players to submit salary figures for 2024.

January 15: New international signing period opens.

~February 13-18: Pitchers and catchers report to spring training.

March 20-21: Opening Day 1: the Dodgers and Padres begin their regular season with 2 games in Seoul, South Korea.

March 28: Official Opening Day for all teams. The Dodgers welcome the Cardinals to Dodger Stadium for a four-game series.

  1. It is time for Friedman and Gomes to dominate the offseason with speed and voracity! No stories of the Dodgers made an offer but were beat out. We want offers that cannot be refused and we want them done now. Strike while the iron is hot! Pitching, 3rd base, shortstop, DH. Revamp our beloved Dodgers and go win a championship!!! It is time! Lets Geaux Dodgers!!!
