Throwback Thursday: Gonzalez Goes 3-For-4 With Four RBIs Vs. Pirates

The Los Angeles Dodgers hosted the Pittsburgh Pirates for a three-game set in the first week of the 2013 regular season. After dropping two of their first three games to the San Francisco Giants, the Dodgers looked to climb back above .500.

The Dodgers won the first two games of the series with the Pirates and went for the sweep with Hyun-Jin Ryu making his second career start and in search of his first win as a Dodger. Ryu would receive plenty of support from Adrian Gonzalez.

Facing Pirates rookie Jeff Locke, Gonzalez hit a single to center that scored two and tying the game at 2-2 in the bottom of the first inning. Gonzalez delivered again in the fifth inning with Carl Crawford standing at third and the Dodgers trailing, 3-2 by hitting his second single of the game.

In his final at-bat with the Dodgers leading 5-2 in the seventh, Gonzalez hit another RBI single that scored Nick Punto. The Dodger first baseman finished the day 3-for-4 with four RBIs as the Dodgers went on to win the game and complete the sweep.
