Joc Pederson: Appearing in every game this week (one as a pinch-runner), Pederson went 5-for-19 and at one point, homered in four consecutive starts. He even walked three times, as he continues to raise his on-base percentage. As the week ended, his slash line sat at a remarkable .271/.422/.600.

Justin Turner: Turner, who usually serves as a utility player, ended up getting three starts this week and did not disappoint. In five overall games, he batted .286 (4-for-14) with three home runs and a double. His batting line rests at .293/.326/.610.

Scott Van Slyke: Like Guerrero, Van Slyke has also gotten extra playing time with Crawford on the shelf. In 17 plate appearances this week, Van Slyke reached base six times with five hits and a walk (.353 on-base percentage).

Brett Anderson: Making two starts this week against the Giants and Diamondbacks, Anderson tossed a combined 10.2 innings, posting a 2.53 ERA and 1.12 WHIP. He lowered his season ERA to 4.21, WHIP to 1.36 and FIP to 3.45.

Honorable Mentions:

Clayton Kershaw: Despite being the losing pitcher, Kershaw was strong in his only start this week against the Giants, allowing seven baserunners and two earned runs in seven innings while striking out eight.

Juan Uribe: In four starts this week, Uribe knocked five hits in 14 at-bats while providing excellent defense at third base. Additionally, he extended his hitting streak to 12 games on Sunday.

Carlos Frias: Serving in a swingman-type role, Frias appeared in two games this week, relieving in one and starting in one. In the combined outings, he totaled 6.2 innings while allowing zero earned runs and seven baserunners.

  1. I just wanted to give Eithier his due credit, for not only playing great on both defense, and offense, but also for getting two hits yesterday, both off lefthanded pitchers! Andre is playing much like a use to play!

    1. He gets paid to do that, and the last couple of years he has not….so good for him……

      1. It is really hard to hit, when you are constantly pulled in and out of the lineup, especially after being an everyday player! Eithier offensive stats is not a miracle this year, it is because he is getting to play everyday! Also, when Crawford does come back this time, and Andre is stil hitting, Crawford must produce, and produce offensively at a very high rate, to even be considered the everyday left fielder again! Crawford does have speed, but Eithier has a better glove, and hits with more power than Crawford! Also, Andre is able to stay on the field much more than Carl!
