Trending Up:

Zack Greinke: In starts against the Marlins and Rockies, Greinke continued to show his dominance on the mound. Combining for 13 innings, he allowed just 10 hits and issued two walks.

Furthermore, he struck out 10 batters and gave up only two earned runs. Oddly enough, he didn’t get the win in either start — finishing with a no-decision and a tough loss. Nevertheless, his ERA remained the same at 1.52 and WHIP dropped to 0.83.

Howie Kendrick: Getting a start in all seven games, Kendrick knocked 11 hits in 29 at-bats, good for a .379 batting average on the week. He notched at least one hit in six of the seven games and had three extra-base hits total (two doubles, one home run). Because of the solid week, his batting line jumped to .307/.370/.479.

Andre Ethier: Playing in seven games (six starts), Ethier batted .409 (9-for-22) with two extra-base hits and three walks. Additionally, he collected his third career five-hit game in Tuesday’s game. To no surprise, his slash line increased to .316/.416/.558 over the one-week span.

Honorable Mentions:

Scott Van Slyke: In five starts (seven games), Van Slyke accumulated seven hits in 22 at-bats with the big one coming in Monday’s game — a walk-off home run against Marlins reliever, Steve Cishek.

Jimmy Rollins: Finally breaking out of his slump, Rollins tallied eight hits in 27 at-bats, including a four-hit game on Friday in which he homered and doubled.

Juan Nicasio: Pitching in 3.1 combined innings out of the bullpen, Nicasio did not allow a run while striking out seven and only allowing three baserunners (two walks, one hit).
