Tweets Of The Day: Dodgers Drop Regular Season Finale, 2-1
The offense was non-existent for both the Dodgers and Rockies last night, but a Nolan Arenado RBI double doomed the Dodgers and Zack Greinke’s six solid innings went to waste.
Hyun-Jin Ryu was on the mound this afternoon and he was searching for his 15th win of the season. Ryu has been a great addition this season and will be a formidable number three starter for the Dodgers in the playoffs. Coming into his start today, Ryu had an ERA of 2.97 and was looking to join Clayton Kershaw and Zack Greinke as starters with an ERA under three.
The Rockies’ starting pitcher was Jeff Francis and the 32 year-old left hander was 2-5 with a 6.61 ERA. Francis was making his first start since June 18 and only appeared in relief for the Rockies since.
Todd Helton played his final game today and the game of baseball lost a great player and consummate professional. Meanwhile, Hanley Ramirez and Matt Kemp were out of the lineup and Yasiel Puig returned to right field.
Let’s get to the tweets of the night.
