Two Dodgers Appear on MLB Network’s Top-10 Series

Two Los Angeles Dodgers were mentioned in the primary installments of MLB Network’s Top 10 Right Now series.

Moreover, Justin Turner and Chris Taylor were selected to be part of the series at third base and second base respectively. Here is the official press release:

January 14, 2019 – Los Angeles Dodgers third baseman Justin Turner was ranked second on MLB Network’s annual “Top 10 Third Basemen Right Now!” program this past Saturday, while teammate Chris Taylor was ranked fifth on the “Top 10 Second Basemen Right Now!”. Turner, who ranked fourth on last year’s countdown, finished one spot ahead of the Rockies’ Nolan Arenado and one spot behind the Indians’ José Ramírez. Taylor, who ranked eighth on last year’s countdown of center fielders, finished one spot ahead of the Reds’ Scooter Gennett and one spot behind the Mets’ Robinson Canó.

It’s interesting that Taylor was elected to be part of the second base group. While that is where someone might list his primary position; Taylor spent more time in 2018 in the outfield and at shortstop in relief of Corey Seager.

Of course, Turner is less of a surprise. What a nice boasting card to finish ahead of Nolan Arenado – one of the most elite third baseman in the game.

Where would you rank Turner and Taylor within their position group? Let us know in the comments!

  1. I’m surprised Justin Turner was ranked ahead of Nolan Arenado, hasn’t Arenado won the Gold-glove award at 3rd base? I would thought Arenado would be ranked 1st.
