VIDEO: Dee Gordon Makes Sliding Stop On Ground Ball Hit Up The Middle

The Los Angeles Dodgers held a 5-2 lead in the fifth inning of Monday’s game as Hyun-Jin Ryu was in the midst of another strong road performance.

Ryu was facing Josh Harrison with one out in the fifth when the Pittsburgh Pirates third baseman hit a 1-2 pitch up the middle, between Ryu’s legs and off the mound. Dee Gordon raced over to his right and made a sliding stop and throw to get Harrison in time.

Gordon’s stop came one inning after he nearly came up with a remarkable diving catch on a shot hit to his left off Andrew McCutchen’s bat.

The All-Star second baseman has put together quite the defensive résumé this season complete with multiple diving stops, an over-the-shoulder catch that led to a double play and scoring on his own hit that never left the park on two separate occasions.
