VIDEO: Hyun-Jin Ryu Accepts ALS Ice Bucket Challenge

In an effort to help raise awareness and garner donations for ALS research, several media members, celebrities and athletes have taken the ice bucket challenge.

Both players and front office personnel with the Los Angeles Dodgers have answered the bell and stepped forward when called upon. The list includes, general manager Ned Colletti, manager Don Mattingly, Dee Gordon, Yasiel Puig and team president Stan Kasten, among others.

On Wednesday, Hyun-Jin Ryu added his name to list. Ryu, currently on the disabled list with a strained right glute muscle, accepted the challenge from Korea. Due to his tardiness in responding, Ryu was sure to make it clear he would both have water poured on him and make a donation.

With assistance from Juan Uribe, Ryu had a significant amount of water poured on him. Fortunately for Uribe, Ryu didn’t issue the challenge to any of his teammates.

Donations can be made via the ALS Association’s official website.
