VIDEO: Joc Pederson’s Game-Tying Home Run Against The Angels

Joc Pederson originally entered Friday night’s game to pinch run for Adrian Gonzalez. After eventually taking over for Andre Ethier in centerfield, the top prospect hit a solo home run to right field off of Fernando Salas to begin the bottom of the eighth inning. After the Dodgers began the game down 0-4, this home run eventually allowed the squad to tie the game up at four a piece. This game-tying bomb allowed the Dodgers to take it to extra innings and defeat the Halos 5-4 in the tenth.

Pederson has hit a total of three home runs this spring. Although he only batted .182 throughout the spring, the young prospect has made quite the impression on the organization and fans alike.

With this series against the Angels being the last of the Dodgers spring training games, Pederson along with the rest of the team’s minor leaguers on the Freeway Series roster will return to the farm system as the Dodgers begin their North American season opener against the Padres this Sunday.

  1. I predict that the Dodgers trade Ethier weeks before the deadline and call up Pederson to be the fourth outfielder.
