VIDEO: Reactions to Yasiel Puig’s INSANE Walk-Off Single!

There are really no words to describe the finish to Wednesday night’s game. Dodgers Howie Kendrick came up to bat with one out and produced a clutch single to keep the inning alive. It was now Yasiel’s turn. Having just been reinstated from the DL, the crowd grew nervous to see whether or not the Puig we all know and love was truly back or not.

Then it happened. A ground ball up the middle that looked like it could end the inning. Luckily, it was hit hard enough to go right by the diving Espinosa. The crowd erupts ready to watch Howie go from first to third. Then, like something you only see in movies, the ball slides right under the glove of center fielder Michael Taylor and rolls to the wall. A charging Puig puts the pedal to the metal and reminds us fans why he has been given the nickname “The Wild Horse”. A beautiful head first slide into home ends the play: a walk-off, inside the park home run.

It took Puig 15.2 seconds to run the bases.

After the celebrations were over, which seemed to last longer than entire game, the main concern was Yasiel’s hamstring. Luckily, when the play was over, Puig spoke with Alanna Rizzo and stated, “My legs felt just fine.”

Afterwards in the locker-room, Puig revisited the topic and said,

“I was ready for the hit, and nobody thought that the ball would go through,” Puig said through an interpreter. “So when I did see the ball go through, I had to talk to my hamstring so I can figure out how far I could go on the bases.”

So far, it seems that Puig is healthy and ready to add a spark to his team. Let’s take a look at what everybody else had to say about this “only in Hollywood” ending!

Let’s hope our Boys in Blue keep this energy rolling into their next series with the Pirates!
