Yasiel Puig has become the human highlight reel for the Los Angeles Dodgers since being called up last June.
In his first game as a Dodger, the right fielder ended the game with a tough catch and throw from deep right field to end the game. Since then he has continued to impress in the field, albeit with a few mistakes along the way.
In the second inning of Thursday night’s games against the New York Mets, Puig saved a run and created quite possibly his best highlight to date. Wilmer Flores drove a ball into the gap in right-center field and Puig went back and dove full speed, catching the ball before it fell in for at least a double. He nearly got up and doubled off Lucas Duda at first base.
Zack Greinke was glad that Puig was able to make the play, as it saved a run from scoring.
