Of the several Los Angeles Dodgers who were on hand for 2015 FanFest at Dodger Stadium on Saturday, none were able to command the crowd the way Hall of Fame broadcaster Vin Scully did.

Scully made his way to the main stage after emerging from the visitors’ bullpen, which he said was the first time he’d walk through that area of Chavez Ravine. Scully’s walk from the bullpen to the stage was met with hysteria and applause from the fans in attendance.

Once on the stage, Scully told of an old tradition he shared with former Dodgers manager Tommy Lasorda and why he started eating Mexican food before going to sleep. Plus, Scully discussed the only time in his storied career that he was embarrassed, which occurred at Ebbets Field in his first year as a broadcaster.

After reflecting on the fond memories from his years with the Dodgers, Scully began to inspire the crowd as he spoke of the emotion that comes with being a Dodger fan. Scully enters his 66th season with the Dodgers and he’s hopeful the 2015 season will bring an end to the Dodgers’ World Series drought.
