In yesterday’s win against the San Francisco Giants, both Yasiel Puig in right field and Justin Turner at third base provided Rich Hill with the two best defensive plays of the game.
Easel Puig’s catch came in the top of the 2nd inning as the Dodgers had just taken a 1-0 lead over San Francisco. Buster Posey lined a fly ball toward the right field line and Puig came screaming in to make a sliding catch before colliding with the wall in foul territory. Rich Hill has the same look on his face as the rest of us.

Justin Turner’s play came in the top of the 4th inning while the Dodgers were up 2-0 on the Giants. Denard Span went the other way down the left field line but Turner stabbed the ball going to his right and immediately delivered a great throw to get the soy, left-handed Denard Span at first base.

Both Turner and Puig are vying for the Gold Glove at their respective positions this season. More plays like this and we might see some awards being handed out to them at the end of the year.
