Puig Congratulates Kobe For Moving Into Third On Scoring List (PHOTO)

As two storied franchises sharing the sports landscape in Los Angeles, the Dodgers and Lakers have a long history of great players to wear their respective uniforms. Although the Lakers are mired in another down year, Kobe Bryant managed to make history Sunday night as he passed Michael Jordan for third on the NBA’s all-time scoring list.

Bryant tied and passed Jordan with a pair of free throws in the second quarter of the Lakers’ win over the Minnesota Timberwolves; he finished the game with 26 points and ended the night with 32,310 career points.

Shortly after Bryant moved into third place, Yasiel Puig posted a congratulatory message on his Instagram profile:

Felicidades a @kobebryant por este gran y merecido éxito god bless #LA #lakers #3nba #alltimescoringlist

Puig was followed by teammate Justin Turner, a Southern California native, in those who passed along congratulatory messages to the 19-year veteran across social media platforms:

Despite the Lakers last winning an NBA championship in 2010, the city has remained one dominated by their fans, such as been the case with the Dodgers, who last won a World Series in 1988.
