Yasiel Puig Makes Pair Of Diving Catches Vs. Cubs (VIDEO)

[new_royalslider id=”175″] Yasiel Puig’s arrival with the Los Angeles Dodgers last season helped spark the team as they went on a historic 42-8 run to win the National League West division.

Puig’s first Major League game ended with him making a catch on the warning track in right field at Dodger Stadium and throwing to first to complete a double play. Two months after his debut, Puig again made an impact with his glove.



On Aug. 2, with the Dodgers leading the Chicago Cubs 6-2 in the eighth, Ronald Belsario was facing Darwin Barney; Belisario is of course no longer with the team and Barney was traded to the Dodgers this season.

Barney hit a flare into shallow right field that Puig made the diving catch to end the inning:

One day later, Puig then robbed Starlin Castro of a hit in the seventh inning with the Dodgers leading 3-0 and a runner on second base:
