Los Angeles Dodgers shortstop Hanley Ramirez has been in LA, the Dominican Republic and Miami this off-season as he continues to recover from the fractured ribs that hampered his 2013 NLCS.

Ramirez has also been in the news after he spoke to ESPN Deportes about his recovery and the fact that he and the Dodgers are talking contract extension. Acquired last summer in a trade with the Miami Marlins, Ramirez was the Dodgers best hitter last season, hitting .345 with 20 home runs and 57 RBI as he was hampered by hamstring, shoulder and thumb injuries during the regular season.

In the playoffs, Ramirez showed his heart and love for the city of LA when he played through his rib injury and even wore a kevlar vest to protect himself against further injury. With the winter meetings just days away, Ramirez Instagramed a picture suggesting that an extension could be on the horizon:

Ramirez captioned this photo: “To Los Angeles….Good News!!!!!”
