Recap: Adrian Gonzalez and Justin Turner Homer in 7-2 Victory Over Phillies

The Dodgers entered today alone in first place for the first time since May 10th! They’re coming off of an offensive-filled, 15-5 victory on Tuesday against the Phillies. Scott Kazmir would take the mound hoping to make the Dodgers’ first place lead 1.5 games!

Let’s take a look at the highlights!

The Phillies struck first in the bottom of the second, putting up one run thanks to a walk and a double.

That lead would not last long because in the top of the 4th, Adrian Gonzalez would go yard scoring 3 runs!

In the very next inning Justin Turner would join the home run party and send the ball a mile high and out of the park!

The Phillies would try and keep the game interesting by scoring one in the bottom of the 6th with a solo shot off the bat of Tommy Joseph.

Don’t worry though, Adrian Gonzalez made sure to crush any chance of the Phillies coming back with his second home run of the night!

Josh Fields would come in for the top of the 9th to close things out and he would do just that! Dodgers win 7-2 and are now 1.5 games ahead of the Giants!

The Dodgers will finish the series with the Phillies on Wednesday at 4:05 PM PST with Ross Stripling taking the mound! Follow us on Twitter at @DodgersNation to get the play by play! Go Blue!
