Los Angeles Dodgers legendary broadcaster Vin Scully has years of experience under his belt and is an encyclopedia for Dodger history. Scully has a remarkable way of sharing stories throughout the broadcast to give fans insight into their favorite team.

During Saturday’s game vs. the Colorado Rockies, Dodger great Sandy Koufax was in attendance. Scully tells the funny story about his early impressions Koufax’s tryout for the Dodgers.

“I saw the fella who was going to try out, and my first thought was no chance,” Scully said during the broadcast, “He had a sun tan … I thought, he spends all the time on the beach not playing baseball.”
