Tweets Of The Night: Dodgers Take 2-1 NLDS Series Lead Over Braves
The Dodgers are coming back home to Dodger Stadium after the Braves tied the series at 1-1 with a 4-3 victory in Game 2 of the NLDS. The Dodgers had countless opportunities throughout the game, but were unable to generate enough offense to get the victory.
Tonight, the Dodgers gave the ball to rookie Hyun-Jin Ryu and the 26-year-old left-hander was hoping to give the Dodgers a 2-1 series lead. Ryu was 14-8 during the regular season and had a 3.00 ERA. Although this was his first year in the big leagues, Ryu does have professional experience in the Korean Baseball Organization, the Beijing Olympics, and the 2009 World Baseball Classic. He pitched in the gold medal game for Korea in the Olympics and earned the win.
The Braves had a rookie of their own on the mound tonight, Julio Teheran and the 22-year-old right-hander is coming off a successful rookie campaign. He went 14-8 and had a 3.20 ERA during the regular season.
Surprisingly, neither team made any changes to their lineups as the Dodgers were looking to keep home field advantage in the series.
Lets get to the tweets of the night.

Are you kidding, Carl Crawford!? That was a ridiculous catch. #NLDS
— MLB (@MLB) October 7, 2013
Just an ordinary head-over-heels catch for Carl Crawford going over the padded railing, into the concrete. #Dodgers #Braves

Schumaker took a look at Puig on that flyball to make sure he wasn’t about to lose his life.
— Chad Moriyama (@ChadMoriyama) October 7, 2013
Educated guess here: Puig pulled a muscle somewhere in the left leg running the bases. We’ll see how it affects his speed/range.
— J.P. Hoornstra (@jphoornstra) October 7, 2013
Michael Young strikes out to end the 3rd inning. Chris Capuano takes the mound for the Boys in Blue with the #Dodgers up 6-4.

— Pedro Moura (@PedroMoura) October 7, 2013
Ryu is on deck — but don’t you pull the plug on him, PH and try to pile on runs if this inning continues? Ryu clearly not on his game
— Bill Plunkett (@billplunkettocr) October 7, 2013
Sixth run allowed is most by Julio Teheran all season. Hyun-Jin Ryu is on deck to hit for himself. #Dodgers #Braves

Hanley being Hanley. Fourth double of this series to lead off the third.
— J.P. Hoornstra (@jphoornstra) October 7, 2013

— Los Angeles Dodgers (@Dodgers) October 7, 2013
First it was bad footwork, then unbelievably poor decision-making, and Ryu has put himself in a huge hole. Inning should be over w/ 4-3 lead
— Pedro Moura (@PedroMoura) October 7, 2013
Ryu has given the #Dodgers lead away — missed base for potential DP on McCann then inexplicably threw home for FC that wasn’t there
