The Dodgers didn’t have much going on this week in terms of adding players, but there was certainly some turnover. Los Angeles lost two guys in free agency over the last week, and are in danger of losing another. Let’s dive into some of the news from around the team this week!
Justin Turner reportedly has as many as 4 total teams looking at him in free agency. It was later revealed that the Braves are one of the 2 mystery teams, with the Dodgers and Blue Jays representing the other 2 options.
Sports Net LA reported Alanna Rizzo caught everyone off guard this week when she announced that she was stepping away from the team. Rizzo plans on spending more time with her family and work on her non-profit foundation.
In free agency, the Dodgers are reportedly the team of preference for Trevor Bauer. That could easily change with money though, and Bauer might get a much better deal from a team in New York. He is also reportedly seeking upwards of $250 million. Still, it’s good to know high-profile free agents still want to be here.
Los Angeles still doesn’t know if there will be a DH in the National League in 2021, but they’re keeping their options open. Nelson Cruz could be a nice addition, and he is said to be intrigued by a potential deal with Los Angeles.
Enrique Hernandez signed a new deal with the Red Sox last week and posted a goodbye video to Dodgers fans this week. Be warned, it might bring some tears to his biggest fans.
Some more tough news this week as the Dodgers lost out on Joc Pederson. Joc will head to the Windy City to play for the Cubs as he signs a 1-year deal with an option attached. The end of an era in Los Angeles.
