The Dodgers have already started intrasquad games, signaling the start of the second rendition of Spring Training. But the camp has not been without concerns, as David Price opts out and a few guys have yet to show up at all.
Dave Roberts confirmed that there were still Dodgers players missing from camp In a press conference on Tuesday. While Roberts could not say why that these guys had yet to report, fans have already started to speculate. We will not speculate on those reasons, but we will give context to their absences where possible.
Keibert Ruiz and Scott Alexander among the guys that have still not reported.
Kenley, Pollock, Baez, and Gavin still have not either as confirmed by Roberts.

Keibert Ruiz, Pedro Baez, Gavin Lux, and Tony Gonsolin are the four guys that I have no idea on why they are missing. It could be over concerns for the coronavirus, it could be for coming into contact with someone with the virus, or they could be waiting on results Your guess is as good as mine on those Dodgers.
Scott Alexander, Kenley Jansen, and AJ Pollock fall into a little bit different category. All three of these guys have some sort of obvious risk associated with playing baseball this year.
Alexander is a type-1 diabetic who could face a greater risk to the virus. Kenley Jansen has a heart condition that was cleared by doctors, but it wouldn’t surprise me to see him taking his return slowly to feel things out. AJ Pollock’s daughter was born premature and he has spent significant time in the NICU as a result. Of these guys, many have wondered if Pollock would sit out the season.
Regardless of the reason, these guys are not in camp. The Dodgers were a little bit short-handed yesterday, asking a clubhouse attendant to play left-field during the intrasquad. While we may never know the reason they have not arrived, it’s something to keep an eye on this week.
