Dodgers Broadcast Team Cracks Top Five in all of Baseball

Trying to fill the shoes of legendary broadcaster Vin Scully is a tall order, and Dodgers’ play-by-play man Joe Davis never wanted to do that. He has spoken several times about wanting to honor Vin when the baton was passed, not trying to fill the void he left.

The result of that passing of the baton is easily one of the best broadcast groups in all of baseball. The duo of Joe Davis and Orel Hershiser is golden, especially when mixed with the on-field reporting of the very talented Alanna Rizzo. Adding Tim Neverett to the television broadcasts to fill in for Davis only sweetened the deal for Dodgers fans.

As it turns out, the Dodgers’ broadcast team ranks up as one of the best in baseball among fans. The Atheltic ran a poll that garnered over six thousand responses, ranking the quality of each broadcast team.

Part of the ranking included play-by-play, color commentary, field reporting, pre and post-game shows, technical quality, and an overall rating. The Dodgers scored an overall 4.64 rating, putting them as the number four team in all of baseball.

Not surprisingly, the Dodgers’ play-by-play received the best rating at a 4.68 average. The Mets were ranked as number one, the Giants came in at number two, and the Padres were ranked number three.
