Last year was a pretty great time to be a sports fan in Los Angeles. Between the Dodgers and Lakers winning their championships, fans in the city finally had a good reason to celebrate. It had been over 32 years since a World Series and just over a decade since they had an NBA title.
The Dodgers and Lakers have been very supportive of one another over the years. Each franchise is always involved with the other in some way shape or form. Just a few years ago, Anthony Davis visited the clubhouse prior to throwing out the first pitch.
But despite all that, Cody Bellinger’s NBA allegiance does not belong to the Lakers. The Dodgers outfielder recently revealed that he has to root for his hometown team, and we can’t really blame him for that.
So all my boys home are huge Suns fans. They watch every game. So therefore I have had a liking for the Suns. They added Chris Paul and they’ve been very good so I like watching the Suns and I turn them on every once in a while here. I’m a Suns guy. I like rooting for the Suns with my boys down here in Arizona.
It’s not a huge deal, but hopefully AD doesn’t find out. I certainly wouldn’t want to get on the bad side of a 6-foot-10 athletic specimen. All jokes aside, we’ll let the Dodgers superstar live this one down. As long as he keeps rooting for the purple and gold when they’re going for another NBA title.
Up next for the Dodgers, they head to Seattle for a 2-game series against the Mariners. Dustin May gets the start tonight taking on Justus Sheffield.
