The Los Angeles Dodgers used a five-run inning to put away the Arizona Diamondbacks Monday night and they now look to push their winning streak against the Diamondbacks to six games. Carlos Frias takes the mound on Joc Pederson t-shirt night at Dodger Stadium, and he’s opposed by Robbie Ray.

Like a handful of other Dodger pitchers over the last two weeks, Frias is coming off a loss to the St. Louis Cardinals. He allowed five runs, though only three earned, on 10 hits in 6.2 innings pitched. The right-hander is making his third appearance and second start in his career against the Diamondbacks; Frias has allowed just four hits in 7.1 scoreless innings over his previous outings.

After spending the 2014 season with the Detroit Tigers, Ray is in his first year with the Diamondbacks. Tuesday is just his third start this season, and he carries a 1-0 record and 0.82 ERA and 1.09 WHIP into the matchup.

Ray allowed one walk in his 2015 debut to the Colorado Rockies and is coming off five scoreless outings against the New York Mets on June 4. He’s recorded five and four strikeouts, respectively, in his two outings.

Although Pederson t-shirts are being given to the first 40,000 fans in attendance, the rookie center fielder isn’t in Tuesday’s lineup. Dodgers manager Don Mattingly said Pederson appears to be a bit worn down, which is resulting in a night off. The timing could be worse as the Dodgers are facing a left-hander.

Mattingly also said he wasn’t sure if Justin Turner would be available to pinch-hit. Turner didn’t participate in batting practice or fielding drills pregame after suffering a knee contusion that knocked him out in the fourth inning on Monday. Chris Heisey starts in center field for Pederson, and Alberto Callaspo is at third base.

Yasiel Puig returns to the lineup after being given a night off. None of the Dodgers have faced Ray in their careers.
