Player of the Day – Yensys Capellan

Capellan, signed in February of 2012, made his debut with the DSL Dodgers that year and hit .276/.357/.393 in 46 games. He missed all of 2013 due to injury and began 2014 with Ogden.

The 20-year-old third baseman is hitting .274/.370/.516 in 21 games. He has severe home/road splits, with his OPS at the Raptors’ cozy home park nearly double what it is on the road. Still, after missing a full season, it’s encouraging to see Capellan producing.
