On Sunday afternoon, the Los Angeles Dodgers played in their final Spring Training game and the next step was boarding a 17-hour flight to Australia. Later in the day, the Dodgers released their finalized 30-man roster for the Opening Series in Sydney.
Before the roster was revealed, the organization purchased Justin Turner’s contract and injured reliever Onelki Garcia was put on the 60-Day DL. The organization also designated Javy Guerra for assignment in order to make room for utility man Chone Figgins. Miguel Rojas and Alex Guerrero also earned spots on the Australia roster, giving the Dodgers infield depth Down Under.
With Carl Crawford staying behind due to the impending birth of his son, Scott Van Slyke, Mike Baxter and Joc Pederson will join Andre Ethier and Yasiel Puig in the outfield. Crawford’s absence won’t count against the 30-man roster as he was placed on paternity leave. Additionally, pitchers Brandon League, Dan Haren, and Zack Greinke are expected to be the three players placed on the exempt list and stay in Arizona.
By March 21 by 7 PM PST, the Dodgers must submit their 28-man roster with their three exempt players. For the full 30-man roster for the Australia series, please refer to the links below.
