Spring training is right around the corner and the Los Angeles Dodgers haven’t finalized their roster for the 2014 season. However, this morning the Dodgers made a major announcement and will have an alternate road uniform to wear this upcoming season.
The alternate road uniform will have “Dodgers” across the chest instead of “Los Angeles”, a jersey that’s been use before, but not since 1999. “Dodgers” was worn across the chest from 1970-1998, but since then they’ve used the road uniforms they currently have now. An alternate jersey hasn’t been in the rotation since 2011, when they wore a powder blue Brooklyn kit for six games.
The Dodgers’ front office continues to do a great job of promoting the 2014 season. They added Brian Wilson and A.J. Ellis bobbleheads to the schedule and SportsNet LA will launch on February 25, 2014. It’s World Series or bust for the Dodgers, but regardless of the outcome, they easily have one of the better home and road jersey combination in the majors.
