Dodgers News: Pedro Baez to Test His Knee Throwing a Bullpen
The Dodgers may be getting Pedro Baez back much sooner than anyone thought. The 26-year-old reliever will get a chance to test the knee that took a hard line drive off of it during the Rays series by throwing a bullpen today.
Baez will throw off a mound today to see how his right knee feels. Roberts said he’s likely unavailable.

As noted by Alanna, Baez is very unlikely to be ready to go. Baez will in fact likely sit out the series entirely in Pittsburgh with a chance to return in Los Angeles next week.
Baez took a liner directly to the knee in Tampa Bay, and it certainly sounded like he would be out for an extended period of time. Baez was able to walk off of the field despite being down for several minutes, very clearly in pain.
Roberts said Pedro Báez is probably unavailable tonight. He hasn’t thrown off a mound since taking the line drive to his right knee Tuesday. Roberts said he hopes Báez will do that today before the game.

He has accumulated a 3.38 ERA overall, but Baez was putting together a string of fantastic appearances.
