Dodgers Partner With Clayton and Ellen Kershaw for Back to School Drive-Thru Event

The Dodgers and the Kershaw’s have once again teamed up for a back-to-school event in Los Angeles. This past Saturday, Clayton and Ellen Kershaw helped to organize a back-to-school drive-thru for students in Los Angeles to get school supplies.

More from the Dodgers official press release on the event:

Children will receive backpacks, food boxes made possible by Melissa’s Produce, face masks, sunscreen, hygiene supplies from UCLA Health, Sound Body Sound Mind home physical education kits, school supplies and other materials needed for the new school year. Recipient families include LADF’s Dodgers RBI sports-based youth development program, and partners include the Boys and Girls Club of West San Gabriel Valley, YMCA Los Angeles, Girls Academic Leadership Academy, Woodcraft Rangers, Crystal Stairs, School on Wheels, and the Compton Unified School District.

While Clayton and Ellen were not able to be there in person due to health and safety, they did make an appearance. Fans driving through the line were greeted by the Kershaw’s via a television screen while they were on a zoom call from their homes.

Clayton and Ellen have worked alongside the Dodgers Foundation for many years now, especially since the new ownership took over. On a zoom call with media ahead of the event, Ellen revealed that the team has been very helpful in facilitating charitable efforts by offering up the stadium for services.

Los Angeles’ Dream Center was also one of the signature partners in the back-to-school drive.
