Dodgers: Rich Hill Will Begin Playing Catch Next Week

Currently, Rich Hill is on the 60-day IL with a pretty serious arm injury. Whether or not he will pitch again or when is currently an unknown timetable.

However, the fire that burns inside Dick Mountain is well documented. Certainly, a fire that will serve him well in his recovery process. Before Saturday’s game with the San Diego Padres, Bill Plunkett of the OC Register took to twitter to update us.

Most importantly, this is a positive update on Hill.

On Friday, Hill had an ultrasound on his elbow which appeared structurally sound. This is really important – showing no damage that would require stagnancy in activity. Moreover, the platelet-rich-plasma injection has promoted some tissue healing.

Finally – and possible the best news of the snippet – Hill will start playing catch next week in Philadelphia.

Obviously, the veteran lefty is a long ways off from stepping on a mound again. But with all things, you must crawl before you can begin to run. Right now, Hill is working his way back with tenacity to the Los Angeles Dodgers.

And what a story it would be if he could return to win a World Series ring.
