Dodgers Rumors: LA Favorites to Land Trevor Bauer on Short Deal, Giants in on Joc Pederson

With the MLB hot stove nearing a boiling point, we dive into the latest rumors surrounding the Los Angeles Dodgers. The dominoes are really starting to fall in Trevor Bauer’s free agency. First, Maria Torres of the LA Times reported that the Los Angeles Angels are out of the Trevor Bauer sweepstakes, and then the New York Mets traded left-handed pitcher Steven Matz to the Toronto Blue Jays.

We discuss how the Mets shipping Matz to the Blue Jays potentially eliminates Toronto as a suitor for Bauer and wonder if it increases or decreases the likelihood of New York inking a deal with the 2020 NL Cy Young award winner. Plus, MLB insider Jeff Passan says he thinks the Dodgers are still favorites to land Trevor Bauer if he intends on signing a short-term deal.

Next, the San Francisco Giants are reportedly “talking” to ex-Dodger Joc Pederson. We assess Pederson’s value and discuss if he’s a good fit for San Francisco. Plus, would Joc Pederson have won the 2017 World Series MVP?

  1. Forget Trevor Bauer, save that salary space to resign Corey Seager – MVP NLCS, MVP World Series.
