Koufax bronze statue will be in the centerfield plaza, along with his former teammate’s, Jackie Robinson. Koufax’s was supposed to be unveiled in 2020, but was delayed due to COVID-19.
The Dodgers are set to play the Cleveland Guardians on Koufax’s statue day. Fans will even get to take the statue home so to speak. The first 40,000 fans will receive a replica Koufax statue.
During his Hall-of-Fame career, Koufax won three-Cy Youngs, the 1963 NL MVP, and led the National League in ERA five straight seasons. The lefty helped the Dodgers win three World Series titles and owns a lifetime postseason 0.95 ERA. He also threw four-no hitters and was the youngest player elected into Baseball’s Hall of Fame.
