Dodgers: Taking A Look At The Day One Draft Order

With the 2019 MLB Draft currently in progress, the Dodgers will wait their turn as 24 other teams will make their picks prior to them. The first two rounds, including compensation picks, will occur on the day one of the draft.

The Dodgers will make a total of three picks on day one of the draft. Those picks are placed at 25th and 31st overall in the first round, and the final pick of the day at 78th overall (Compensation Pick).

Fangraphs created multiple mock drafts over the last month or so. These projections were part of their most recent mock, posted just minutes before the draft began.

At 25th overall they projected the Dodgers to take Daniel Espino, RHP out of Premier Academy HS (GA). At 31st overall they projected Los Angeles to take Kyle Stowers, OF out of Stanford and with the 78th overall, Spencer Jones 1B/LHP out of La Costa Canyon HS (CA).

The Dodgers received a compensation pick at 31st overall due to unsigned 2018 first-rounder J.T. Ginn. The 78th overall pick is also a compensation for Yasmani Grandal, who signed with the Brewers prior to the 2019 season.
