Dodgers Video: Jose Peraza Hits Triple For First Major League Hit

Jose Peraza

While nothing really went right for the Los Angeles Dodgers against the Washington Nationals on Monday night, there was one bright spot that came in the bottom of the third with two outs.

Newcomer Jose Peraza, who was making his Major League debut, got his first career hit on a flare to right field that Bryce Harper where he tried to make a sliding grab. The ball went past the right fielder and Peraza ended up on third with a triple:

The triple would go to waste though, as Yasiel Puig struck out to end the inning right after.

Peraza went 1-for-4 in his first game with the Dodgers; however, he made solid contract two of the other times. He played well in the field until botching a double play opportunity later in the game, opting to toss to Jimmy Rollins when he should have made the play himself.

The 21-year-old was acquired from the Atlanta Braves in the three-team, 13-player deal and is currently ranked in our top-10 Dodgers prospects. He was called up when Howie Kendrick went on the disabled list with a hamstring strain.
