Julio Urías Making A Statement for 2017

On May 27, 2016, one pitcher made his debut for the Los Angeles Dodgers, and he goes by the name of Julio Urías. Also he is making a statement and everyone should read carefully. The Culiacán native was the Dodgers No. 1 prospect in the minors while in Triple-A Oklahoma City.

It was an unexpected surprise to the fans the way he performed this past season.

In 2016, the world was introduced to Urías’s style of a pick off, while his opponents despised it.

No one will ever forget the time where Julio Urías became the youngest starting pitcher in postseason history.

The comparisons that many people made between Urías and other MLB pitchers reached awe dropping statistics.

His improvements in the regular season gave me a spot in the postseason.

“I realize what it looks like to pitch on this side, and I think it will help me next year and I’m going to prepare for that,” Urías said. His inspiration made the Dodgers organization believe in the 20-year-old.

In an interview with Spectrum SportsNet, Urías is thankful for everything that the Dodgers did for him.

“I’m going to get back to work, work double time and try to get a spot in the starting rotation which is the goal,” Urías said.

Even though Andrew Friedman has not officially announced if Urías will be apart of the Dodgers Opening Day roster in 2017, everyone should know that Urías will do anything in his power to make that happen. Another option that Friedman is considering is to put restrictions on Urías for the 2017 season.

The restrictions are believed to be limitations on the number of innings he will pitch.

What kind of role do you think Julio Urías will have on the Dodgers team in 2017?
