  1. Manfred sucks big-time. But even if there were a season, it wouldn’t really be a “World Series.” It would be the final round in a tournament, but not the World Series that we are accustomed to. Therefore whoever is champion would have an asterik next to their name if it truly is called “World Series.” The pandemic cost the Dodgers a shot at a World Series this season, nothing else. There’s no real case for this report.

  2. This dude is trying to change the game with rule after rule turning it into his version of the NFL. The greatest game on earth perfect as it is. This idiot is trying to change perfection. All he is is a “yes sir, no sir” to the owners. From a fans perspective he doesn’t care about the players health he doesn’t care about the fans and it sure as heck doesn’t look like he cares about baseball. He supports cheaters in the game and protects the owners who’s teams have cheated. As of today we should already have a game plan for this season but sides with the owners that there shouldn’t be a season. Save a buck is their theme. The players should strike until he’s gone, removed, in the words of Trump “You’re Fired”!!!
And then….Good riddance to the worst commissioner of all sports of all time!!!

    1. Baseball needs to change. When I was a kid every boy played baseball, watched baseball, and read books about baseball. Now only one of my nephews even cares about baseball, but he doesn’t really watch the games, he just reads the box after the game.

Some MLB players even say that they like playing but not watching on TV because it’s too boring. So I can’t really blame a commissioner for trying to salvage the sport by quickening the pace of play and considering changes that eliminate the shift. Obviously, I would have preferred having the players hit the ball the other way, but this does against the ”new philosophy” of modern hitting.

We are most likely Dodger fans and are accustomed to winning. Imagine being a fan of another franchise. Would you waste 4 hours of your life every day knowing they are likely going to lose? That is half a workday. 2 hours maybe they can watch a game here or there but that is better than watching none.

      Something needs to happen.

  3. Never in my lifetime as a huge baseball fan and #1 Dodger Fan that we could have forseen this coming to the game of baseball…and how pathetic Rob Manfred is and he calls himself a baseball commisioner!! He needs to be fired ASAP!! Lets hope and pray that both sides can come to terms and that the Great game of baseball will return to us all very soon!

  4. Wow, so much hating on the MLB commissioner. Tony clark and the players union seem to be completely out of line. They had an agreement to get full salaries for games played PROVIDED fans where in the stands. In that same agreement it they agreed players would need to make further salary concessions if fans where not attending games.

  5. Why not have MLB play in an “Almost Anything Goes” type playoff system like from the 70’s? That’s more of Manfred’s style.

  6. The worse man for the job. He has no idea or intelligence to run MLB. He screw up the cheating scandals with the Astros and Red Soxs. He has little respect from the players. Before next season he should be gone not the right man for the job.

  7. Get a grip guys! Try to visualize this. You have à employee (manfred) and a employer(30 owners ). The employee does as he is told so he can keep his job. Sound familiar? And what exactly has he done that is so bad? He is negotiating a labour contract. Just because this interferes with your little life doesnt mean he’s not doing his job! Or a good job for that matter! The writers especially, probably dont realize that there is more going on in there little world than baseball.
